RIYADH: The Education and Training Evaluation Commission, represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation, achieved full membership in the Seoul Accord, after the final visit by the accord鈥檚 secretariat, the SPA reported on Tuesday.
The Seoul Accord is an international reference for academic accreditation and recognition of computer and information technology certificates in higher education.
It adopts specific guidelines and requirements for graduate specifications, aiming to enhance outcome-based education.
The Seoul Accord aims to enhance learning capabilities, facilitate the mobility of graduates among member countries, and provide employment opportunities for graduates from nationally accredited academic institutions in the field of computer science and information technology worldwide.
Additionally, the accord helps develop relationships with global quality assurance agencies and networks, as well as localize the best international accreditation practices among member countries.
This enhances ETEC鈥檚 goal of becoming an international model in accrediting computer programs and information technology in higher education. Through the membership, ETEC aims to have an influential role in decision-making at the international level.
The accreditations issued by ETEC will also be officially recognized by member states of the accord, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mexico.
